BigDog!!! Looks great, I really need to come out for a more in depth look. Not sure why you took out the track system? Think of the possibilities, take the garbage out, bring refreshments to your guest while watching the Vikings loose yet another game, hauling in the groceries. I can tell you did some real work on it. You should post some pics of the outside.

Hey BigDog!

You have made some great improvements but I've got to agree with CT. The monorail looks like it held potential for utility as well as serious fun especially if attachments such as a hook, clamps, scoop, or Japanese love seat are available.

You've got a good sense of aesthetic -- I like the colors you've selected and heartily endorse your decision to get rid of the wallpaper in the bathroom vaguely reminiscent of an accident scene.

I’ve done a fair amount of remodeling and few decorating faux pas were more egregious than a main bathroom and a long living-room wall papered in foil. Not the velvet and foil wallpaper popular in the '70s. Regular aluminum foil. You could see the serrated edges from where the previous owners literally tore it off the roll. They should have consulted those gay fellers on TV before going with that.

Worse yet was teal wallpaper I encountered in a Minneapolis bathroom decorated with bunnies clothed in various shades of mauve. What's odd is they appeared to be acting out some kind of Asian story. There were bunnies in kimonos, bunnies leaping from a box, bunnies perched on what appeared to be mandolins, and bunnies clashing cymbals together. The design must represent some folk story or fairy tale I just did not know what it was. On the plus side, it quirky and different and something to contemplate while attending to other matters...

I love the art and photographs you have selected! I've seen other people's walls adorned with "art" that looks like it was assembled by the owners running through the next-to-new and grabbing at random.

When are you coming for Mickey's pancakes again? It's my turn to buy...

Hey Chris and Michael (Dare I say, Tyke and Mike?),

Thanks for the great replies! You're right, I hadn't really thought about how useful that lift system could have been! I could have used it to move my furniture around while redecorating. :) Or to haul out the TV with a brick in it after watching the Vikings lose to the football team from "The Little Sisters of the Poor" orphanage. :(

I would love to have seen photos of the Bunnies all over in the tinfoil house. I've seen photos of Andrea's co-worker sitting in front of his desk which was completely wrapped in tinfoil. Everything down to the stapler and individual pencils. Ha. I emailed the photo back to him after adding a callout caption coming from him that read "curses, foiled again!"

I'll have to post the outside photos. We have been totally focused on doing the inside. The outside is really plain and we're working on some landscaping plans to implement this spring/summer. When we sent photos out to family of the house inside before we remodeled the reaction was, "Really? You chose that one?" Haha. So, I was hoping to do "something" to have an After photo to show in answer to the critics. Not everyone gets that buying a house that needs work was the whole idea this time. :)

And...did I hear Mickey's Pancakes?! Can you email those? If not, I'm thinking first week of August. :)

If you can make it out here, the guest room is all set. You can have the airbed mattress on the hideabed couch, or just go with the massage table, face down on the heated pad. I can fall asleep in 30 seconds on that thing, massage or not. Either way, guests are welcome anytime. Lots of things I have been eager to do out here. River rafting anyone??
